During the meeting, both sides discussed recent developments in the region and stressed the importance of mutual cooperation to preserve peace and stability, according to a statement released by the Presidency’s office.

The Emir of Qatar reaffirmed that his country values its relations with Iraq and Iraq's peace and stability,

He expressed his country’s readiness to boost its ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the fields of trade and investment.

Barzani reiterated that the Region will remain a factor of peace and stability in Iraq and the region.

He hoped that Iraqi officials form a government which provides better living condition and public services to all components in Iraq.

Earlier the day, Barzani also met with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz.
