He added: "We are seriously pursuing ISIS elements who are accused of committing crimes against Yazidis in Shingal, and we will file a legal complaint against them."
The director of Yazidi affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Region also stated: "In Iraq, we have to file a complaint against ISIS elements based on the anti-terrorism law." This is not the first time, and legal complaints have been filed against ISIS members in Iraq before, and some of them have even been sentenced to death."
According to the statistics of the Office for the Rescue of Abductees by ISIS, during the ISIS attack on Shingal and its surrounding areas on August 3, 2014, 6,417 Yazidi Kurds were kidnapped and thousands of people were massacred or disappeared. So far, about 3,595 kidnapped people have been released.
