Today, diplomacy is more vital than ever

Turkish Service - Emphasizing the increasing role of governments in the international system, the Turkish Foreign Minister called for strengthening diplomacy and criticized the policies of Israel and the inaction of the European Union.

According to Kordpress, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, referring to global developments, announced that diplomacy has become more important than ever in the current situation. While warning about the possibility of war and instability if the current trends continue, he considered Israel's policies beyond security and criticized the West's extensive support for this country.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, in a speech in the context of the "dialogue hosted by the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026", said: "In the era we live in, diplomacy is more important than ever and the need for it has increased."

Emphasizing the changes in the structure of the international system, Fidan added: "Now we are witnessing that the role of national governments in the world system has become more prominent and that is why diplomacy has become more important for countries."

He warned that if countries continue to expect the international system to automatically follow its course, "first we will face war and then destruction."

In another part of his speech, the Turkish Foreign Minister pointed to Israel's policies and said: "Israel is not only looking for its security, but also for territorial expansion." He also added that the complexity of the situation has increased due to the "extensive support of Europe and the United States for Israel."

Referring to regional developments, Fidan said: "The countries of the region are on the verge of a new awakening and have come to the conclusion that Israel is a regional threat."

He also criticized the performance of the European Union and said that the Union "institutionally failed to adopt a position to limit Israel's actions using its power."

In the end, referring to the developments after World War II, Fidan noted: "After World War II, the United States took the leadership of the new world order, but later on, the same order it formed was no longer compatible with it."
