Iraqi PM authorizes payment to families of ISIS Diyala attack victims

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Thursday, October 28, authorized payments of $6,850 to each of the families of the people who were killed in an attack by Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Diyala governorate on Tuesday night.

Thirteen people were killed and at least 30 others were wounded in the attack in the governorate’s al-Miqdadiya district.
Additionally, payments of $5,480 will be made to the families who had been displaced by the fighting, which numbered some 227 so far according the Ministry of Migration and Displaced Affairs.
The displaced people have been staying in local mosques or in housing provided by the government. Some may be moved to a displacement camp in Khanaqin in the coming days.
