Erbil in not dependent on budget provided by Baghdad: official

The vice-chairman of the Finance Commission of the Kurdistan Region Parliament said the Kurdistan Regional Government does not rely on the budget provided by the federal government in Baghdad.

Stating that despite the fact that the Kurdistan region has not received it's share of budget from the federal government in previous years, Hevidar Ahmed told Baghdad Al-Youm News Agency that Erbil uses its own income and does not rely on the federal government's budget.
Ahmed added: The Kurdistan Regional Government is now using its oil sales and other revenues despite the fact that the federal government is required to pay 200 billion dinars to Erbil every month.
