Addressing the weekly press conference, Abdul-Mahdi referred to a recent trip which was made by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to Iraq, saying the meeting was held within the framework of preparing the grounds for President Rouhani's trip, IRNA reported.

Issues related to water, borders, economic relations, railway and Shatt al-Arab will be discussed during Rouhani's tour, he added.

He underlined reinforcing relations with regional, Arab and Islamic countries.
