Iraq condemns Turkey airstrikes in Kurdistan Region

<p style="text-align:left">Iraq has condemned the recent Turkish airstrikes on the Kurdistan Region's border areas which resulted in several civilian casualties, while urging any side not to use the Iraqi territory to attack neighbouring countries.

At least four civilians, all members of the same family, were killed and four others were wounded on Thursday evening in a Turkish air raid in Kurtak area, in Sulaimaniya's Sangasar sub-district.
"Iraq condemns airstrikes conducted by two Turkish warplanes on Kurtak area in Sulaimaniya in which four civilians were martyred and four others were wounded, while causing panic among residents," reads a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BasNews reported.
It added that Baghdad wants to keep its historic ties with Ankara, noting that it, therefore, "believes that any unilateral attacks on Iraq would be considered as a violation to Iraq's sovereignty."
