According to NRT Cavusoglu is expected to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabour as well as a number of Turkmen lawmakers.

His visit came after an invitation from Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to discuss the relations between both countries.

Earlier this month, Turkey’s foreign minister said a delegation from the Turkish government would visit Baghdad to discuss possible mediation between Erbil and Baghdad.
