NRT reported the delegation includes representatives from eight ministries of the Iraqi government.

The aim of the delegation’s visit is to discuss the Shushme border crossing between Halabja and Iran and possibly making it an international crossing.

Shushme border crossing is an unofficial border crossing between the Kurdistan Region and Iran in the province of Halabja.

The Halabja administration and the Kurdish government have called on the Iraqi government to make the border crossing international. The government has yet to make such a decision.
