Leaving Iraq political arena won't benefit Kurds: PUK spokesman

<p style="text-align:left">The spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) says leaving Iraq' political arena will not benefit Kurds, calling for resolving disputes between Erbil and Baghdad.

Saadi Ahmad Pire made the remarks after the Iraqi parliament passed 2018 national budget, March 3, without Kurds whose share has decreased from 17 percent into 12.
Many Kurdish parliament deputies, party officials and leaders have urged leaving Baghdad in protest to the parliament decision in passing the budget.
Pire told Rudaw that quiting Iraq's political arena is not a good decision and will not benefit Kurds as there is time to convince Iraqi PM to pay the share of the Kurds in 2018 budget.
The PUK and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) had threatened to quit Iraqi government if the budget is not increased.
