18 people injured in western Iran quake

<p style="text-align: left;">The 5.3-Richter quake happening Sunday in Sarpol-e Zahab, western province of Kermanshah injured 18 people, director general of Kermanshah crisis management office said.

14 people were injured in Sarpol-e Zahab, 3 people in Gilan-e Gharb and 1 person in Qasr-e Shirin, Reza Mahmoudian told IRNA.

Injured people were treated on site, he said.

According to a report by seismography center affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 13:05 hours local time with its epicenter being registered at 45.81 degrees longitude and 34.42 degrees latitude and in the depth of 7 km underground.

Kermanshah has been jolted by several earthquakes since November 12, 2017, when a 7.3- magnitude earthquake hit the province's Ezgeleh region killing at least 620 people and injuring over 12,000.
