During a speech in Istanbul on Sunday, Albayrak claime that Turkey was not only fighting against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and its extensions in Syria, but also against countries providing the Kurdish militia military equipment, AHaber reported.
Turkey launched a military incursion in Syria in Jan. 20 and in March seized the Afrin city centre, which was under the control of the pro-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (PYD) and People's Protections Units (YPG).
“We are passing through historic days. For the last 15 years, we are facing a de facto war, a struggle. In this process, which as you know has turned in recent months from a de facto situation to an official war, we are fighting against in Afrin not only a handful members of a terrorist organisation. As Turkey, are we fighting only against PKK/PYD/YPG? We are fighting against some certain countries that back them [Kurdish forces], that provide weapons, rifles, rocket launchers, rockets to them, the tunnels they built by using their equipment,” said Albayrak.
