Iran top security official rules out possibility of war

<p style="text-align: left;">Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on Saturday ruled out the possibility of any military aggression against the country.

As the enemies have an estimate of Iran's political might as well as military and security preparedness, there is no room for forming a military aggression against the country, Shamkhani said addressing a gathering of police commanders.

Referring to US President Donald Trump's threats to walk out of Iran nuclear deal (known as JCPOA), the official said that either the success or the defeat of JCPOA, as a political and security accord confirmed by the UN Security Council, will be a historical test for weighing the logic of dialogue against confrontation and the capacity of international organizations for the settlement of different global challenges.

If the US president fails to respect the commitments made by the former US government, no other country will be ready to engage in any other negotiations with the US since it is possible that the future governments will reject the commitments of incumbent government, Shamkhani said.
