Baghdad officially calls for Turkey withdrawal from Iraq

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi foreign minister has officially called on Turkey to withdraw its forces from Iraq.

Ibrahim al-Jaafari has officially called on Turkey to withdraw its forces from Iraq. Jaafari has made the demand during a recent visit to Ankara, NRT said in a report.

The Iraqi FM has reiterated that his government allows no group or side to use its soil for attacking and taking actions against neighboring countries, stating that Iraq neighbors helped the country to defeat the Islamic State (IS).

Turkey has established 18 military bases in Kurdistan Region and another military base in Baashiqa, Musil, northern Iraq. Turkish forces are in control of many villages in Kurdistan Region and have started an operation in the region, leading into clashes between the forces and the fighters of the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; Party (PKK).

The local parliament of Kurdistan Region has repeatedly asked for withdrawal of Turkish forces from the region. The people in the region, too, have held many protesting rally against the presence of the forces in the Kurdish autonomous region.
