German delegation visits Syrian Kurdish region

<p style="text-align: left;">A delegation from Germany visited Kurdish-controlled areas in northern Syria to meet with the Kurdish officials, Hawar News Agency reported on Monday, May 28.

The German delegation arrived in Jazira on Monday through Semelka crossing border that links the Kurdish region to the Kurdistan Region, the agency said.

According to the report the delegation was received by the co-chairs&rsquo; vice of the Foreign Relations Body in Jazira, Fener al-Kait, and the head of Woman Body, Amina Omer.

The delegation included the human rights spokeswoman for Die Linke (The Left) Party in the German Parliament Bundestag and Jan van Aken, a member of the Die Linke Party executive committee.

Members of the delegation headed to foreign relations body&rsquo;s center in Qamishli city following their meeting with Jazira officials.

&ldquo;There people of all religions and backgrounds can live democratically and govern themselves. They need the support of the international community against the attacks of Turkey in violation of international law", said van Aken in a press release on Sunday.

According to the press release, the places that they will visit are Qamishlo, Kobane, Hasakah, and Manbij.
