Damascus condemns Kurdish-led SDF cooperation with US

<p style="text-align:left">Syria&amp;rsquo;s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the &amp;ldquo;criminal and repressive&amp;rdquo; actions of US-sponsored and Kurdish-led militants from the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against ordinary Syrians, stating that they are in line with schemes devised by Israeli officials and implemented by regimes subservient to Washington.

The ministry, in identical letters sent to United Nations Secretary-General Ant&oacute;nio Guterres and the rotating President of the UN Security Council Vasily Nebenzya on Sunday, announced that SDF militants continue their terrorist and criminal exercises against Syrians in Syria&rsquo;s eastern provinces of Hasakah and Dayr al-Zawr in addition to the northern provinces of Raqqah and Aleppo.

The letter stated that the militants are backed by the United States and the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the IS terrorist group, who provide them with military, logistic, financial and political support.

&ldquo; That goes in line with schemes being carried out by some states subservient to the United States and being concocted by the authorities of the Zionist regime (of Israel) in utter disregard to Security Council resolutions, which underline the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and unity of its people,&rdquo; the letters read.

The Syrian ministry went on to say that not only do SDF militants take part in crimes being perpetrated by the US-led coalition against Syrian people, but they also kidnap, torture, murder and displace civilians, Press TV reported.

The Kurdish-led terrorists also illegitimately recruit young people with the aim of imposing a new status quo, which best serves the US and Israeli schemes in the Middle East region and prolongs the Syrian crisis, the letters pointed out.

The Syrian foreign ministry said that the SDF's actions come as government forces are fighting the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham terrorist group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, besides terror outfits affiliated to IS and al-Qaeda in the northwestern province of Idlib.

&ldquo; The Damascus government is resolved to liberate each inch of the Syrian soil from terrorism, with the help of the friendly countries and allies, and reconstruct what has been destroyed due to terrorism.

&ldquo; It is also determined to liberate areas controlled by separatist SDF terrorists. Syrian people will not allow them to harm the country&rsquo;s unity and sovereignty,&rdquo; the letters highlighted.

The US has long been providing the SDF with arms and militant training, calling them a key partner in the purported fight against the terrorist group of IS.
