PKK will conduct more operation in Turkey after US withdrawal from Syria, analyst says

<p style="text-align: left;">Max Hofman, an analyst at the American Progress Institute told a meeting of the institute on Syria that the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) could conduct more operation against Turkey in the case US forces withdraw from Syria.

Turkey is worried about cooperation between the US and Kurds in Syria but Turkey would suffer more if the U.S. troops quit Syria as the officials in Washington have stated, he said.

Hofman further added that after the withdrawal of the U.S. forces the PKK would have Damascus support and would conduct operations against Turkey from eastern Syria.

The analyst predicted that more clashes would occur between the PKK and Turkey in southeast Turkey and out of Qandil.

Hofman further blamed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the severe tension between the PKK and Ankara as, according to him, Erdogan is attempting to uproot the PKK and destroy its forces in order to win the votes of Turkey nationalists.
