The PUK’s seats will be decreased to three seats while New Generation’s seats will increase to five seats from two, NRT claimed.
Votes of the Change Movement, Kurdistan Islamic Group, Kurdistan Islamic Union, Coalition for Justice and Democracy and other parties have also increased, according to the results of those ballot boxes that have been recounted in Sulaimani.
The manual recount of votes began on Monday in Sulaimani. Up to 84 boxes have been opened in the first day of the process.
Iraq’s electoral commission introduced electronic voting and vote counting to eliminate electoral fraud for the parliamentary election on May 12. Several parties, however, complained about the new system.
The Iraqi parliament approved a third amendment to the election law on June 6, ordering a nationwide manual recount of votes for the parliamentary election because of widespread reports of fraud.
