During the meeting where the two European countries' Consuls in Erbil were also present, the officials discussed the current situation in southern parts of Iraq and hoped that all sides in the country will make efforts to form a new government, and that the Kurdistan Region will play a key role in the process.
According to BasNews they also exchanged views on the Erbil-Baghdad relations where the Kurdish premier showed the region's readiness to to begin discussions with the federal government.
Barzani also thanked the French and German governments for their continuous military and humanitarian assistance "in hard days" and for their invitations to Paris and Berlin last year which was a great support for the region.
