Barzani accepted an invitation from Qatari Prime Minister Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani to visit Doha, the capital of Qatar, according to a statement released by the Kurdistan Region Presidency’s website.

Barzani welcomed Qatar’s decision to open a consulate in Erbil, saying that it will provide an opportunity to develop bilateral relations between Qatar and the Kurdistan Region, NRT reported.

They also discussed opportunities in the Region for Qatari investors, the coronavirus pandemic, and the continued threat posed by Islamic State (ISIS) resurgence.
