Kurdish forces, Syrian troops clash in Qamishli

<p style="text-align:left">An armed conflict erupted on Tuesday between the Kurdish Security forces of the local administration of Syrian Kurdistan, and the armed forces loyal to the Syrian government in Qamishli, northeast of Syria.

According to BasNews the two sides exchanged fire outside the strategic city before Russian forces intervene to calm down the tension.

However, the confrontation comes just days after tensions escalated between the two sides. The Kurdish security forces accused the Syrian army last Friday of firing hand grenades at their checkpoint near Qamishli.
