Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein arrived in Tehran this morning to meet with our country's officials.
The meeting between Mohammad Javad Zarif and Fouad Hossein was held at the Iranian Foreign Ministry with the focus on examining bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.
According to some reports, the Iraqi FM is expected to present an invitation to senior Iranian officials to attend the Baghdad International Conference during the visit.
In recent days, some Arab media outlets have announced that Iraq will invite the Iranian president to attend an international meeting in Baghdad in late August.
After meeting with Zarif, Hussein held a meeting with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.
Shamkhani said during the meeting that the continuation of foreign intervention in the internal affairs of the countries in the region increases tensions, according to Mehr News Agency.
Shamkhani also underlined as necessary to fully implement the agreements between Tehran and Baghdad immediately, describing it as a big step towards increasing the level of comprehensive cooperation in the interest of the people of the two countries.
Hussein reportedly arrived in Tehran on Tuesday morning to meet with Iranian officials and to convey the invitation of the Iraqi Prime minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the Iranian president to attend at the conference.
