Led by PUK co-President Lahour Sheikh Jangi, a PUK delegation met a number of Gorran senior officials, including the movement’s Leader Omer Ali Seyyed Ali.

According to Melat news website Lahour Sheikh Jangi stated in a message on his Facebook page that the PUK delegation held a meeting with Gorran leader and the two sides traded their views on the latest situation in the Kurdistan Region, an autonomous region in the north of Iraq, and the bilateral ties between the two parties.

According to Talabani’s message the meeting was held in Sulaimani, the stronghold of the two parties, and the two sides also discussed the living condition of the people in the region and negotiated about finding ways to improve the situation of the people.

The leading council of the PUK has asked the party to hold talks with the political parties in the region over the living condition of the people. Within the move, a PUK delegation held a meeting with the leader of the Kurdistan Islamic Community.

A KRG delegation meeting, led by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his deputy Qubad Talabani, was held on Saturday, June 21, through a video conference. The meeting decided to reduce the salaries paid to employees by 21%. The decision generated strong reactions from citizens and government employees. The opposition parties, including Jemaat-e Islami, the Islamic Alliance and the new generation, reacted strongly to the decision and refused it.
