During the meeting, al-Kadhimi and Salih stressed the need to continue fighting the remnants of the IS terrorist group and to continue the operations of the security and military forces in order to maintain victory over the terrorists and establish security in all Iraqi cities.

The two high-ranking Iraqi officials also stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government and the need to resolve financial problems between the two sides in order to guarantee the legal rights of all Iraqi citizens.

The meeting also discussed regional and international developments and stressed the pivotal role of Iraq in strengthening security, peace and stability in the region.
