Referring to Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new threats against Syrian Kurdistan, Dr. Suleiman Elias, director of the Euphrates Strategic Research Center, told KurdPress that "The issue is not the same as before and Erdogan cannot attack Syrian Kurdistan again.”

He continued: "Erdogan has taken military action in many areas and also suffered defeats, and this will make it difficult for Erdogan to add new fronts.”

Regarding the US presidential election and its impact on Syrian Kurdistan, Suleiman Elias said: "the change of president in the US will not change US policy in Syria."

He added that the US government had signed a 25-year oil contract with the Syrian Kurdish self-ruling administration, which means that the US does not intend to leave Syria any time soon, even if the Syrian issue is resolved.

He added: "The United States has a long-term strategy for the region and with the arrival and departure of the president, there will be no change in US policies."

The head of the Euphrates Strategic Research Center stated: "The United States did not come to Syria because of the Kurds, it is definitely pursuing its own interests, and in the meantime, the Kurds are pursuing their own independent policy."

Suleiman Elias pointed out: "Less than 30% of Syrian territory is under the control of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and it means that it is under the control of the United States, so Turkey will not make another mistake due to the support of the United States and Europe."
