Dr. Leonor Martin, a professor of political science at Emmanuel College in the United States, expressed disappointment over any US-Turkish agreement on the Syrian Kurdish issue.
"Turkey and the United States do not trust each other on many issues, such as Nagorno-Karabakh, the S-400 missile defense system and the Syrian Kurds. Particularly, they cannot find common ground on the Syrian Kurdish issue,” he told Germany's Qantara website.
The political science professor at Emmanuel College in Boston stressed that Turkey will not compromise on Syrian Kurdish-Arab forces, noting that Turkey continues its attacks on Kurds in Iraq and Syria.
He stressed that Turkey considers the Syrian Kurdish forces an ally of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and sees them as a threat to its existence.
