US and Turkey have nothing in common on Syrian Kurdish issue: university professor

<p style="text-align: left;">A university professor believes that the United States and Turkey have nothing in common on the Syrian Kurdish issue and do not trust each other.

Dr. Leonor Martin, a professor of political science at Emmanuel College in the United States, expressed disappointment over any US-Turkish agreement on the Syrian Kurdish issue.

"Turkey and the United States do not trust each other on many issues, such as Nagorno-Karabakh, the S-400 missile defense system and the Syrian Kurds. Particularly, they cannot find common ground on the Syrian Kurdish issue,&rdquo; he told Germany's Qantara website.

The political science professor at Emmanuel College in Boston stressed that Turkey will not compromise on Syrian Kurdish-Arab forces, noting that Turkey continues its attacks on Kurds in Iraq and Syria.

He stressed that Turkey considers the Syrian Kurdish forces an ally of the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; Party (PKK) and sees them as a threat to its existence.
