Sadr warns to follow all internal and external interventions against Iraq

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr faction in Iraq, stated that the Iraqi elections are an internal matter and that countries in the region should not interfere in or pressure the decisions of the election commission.

According to Sputnik, Muqtada al-Sadr wrote in a tweet: "What distinguishes the Iraqi elections is that they are held under the supervision of the international community, the United Nations and the Arab League."

The leader of the Sadr faction also stressed that "he will pursue all internal and external interventions against the independence of Iraq."

It should be noted that Muqtada al-Sadr had called on the Iraqi Electoral Commission announce the election results and to pursue legal protests in this regard in order to block the opportunity for the enemies of the Iraqi political process.

On Sunday, more than 3,000 candidates competed in 83 constituencies for 329 seats in the Iraqi parliament.
