Nouri al-Maliki, the former prime minister of Iraq and the current candidate for the post of prime minister, said: We are against the open intervention of the United States in the affairs of Iraq, and we consider it a violation of sovereignty and an infringement on the independence of Iraq.

Nouri al-Maliki emphasized: Dialogue between countries is the only political option for interaction, not resorting to the language of dictation and threats.

According to Al Jazeera's report, he added: The choice of the prime minister is a sovereign decision and we do not accept any foreign interference in it. In line with the decision of the coordination framework, we will continue our efforts until the end to realize the highest interests of the Iraqi nation.
