According to Kordpress, the city of Kobani, which has been under a severe siege for more than 17 days, is moving towards a humanitarian disaster day by day. Local sources say that water, electricity, internet and many basic foodstuffs have been cut off in the city and thousands of civilians are living in critical conditions.

According to the Euphrates News Agency, in the massive attacks that began on January 6 against the northern and eastern regions of Syria, the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafieh were targeted and Kobani was completely surrounded. Due to the closed borders of Türkiye, humanitarian aid does not reach the city and the situation of vulnerable people, especially children and babies, is extremely dangerous.

At the same time, the Energy Management of Euphrates Canton announced that the power outage was caused by the breakdown of the high voltage transmission line between Kobani and Sarin stations, and the efforts to repair this line faced the restrictions of the interim government of Damascus. Aigol Muslim, a member of energy management, emphasized that this situation disrupts the activities of hospitals, water pumping and bakeries and aggravates the humanitarian crisis.

Despite the severe problems, the residents of Kobani are still maintaining their resistance and trying to protect their city from collapse. Local officials and humanitarian organizations have called for immediate international intervention to lift the blockade and solve the power outage problem in order to prevent a humanitarian disaster.
