Saadi Pire also added: "An agreement has not yet been reached on the presidential post, and all parties, especially the Patriotic Union, want the Kurds to enter this race with a single candidate.

It is worth mentioning that according to the political custom in Iraq, the prime minister is elected from among the Shiites, the president from among the Kurds, and the speaker of the parliament from among the Sunnis.

The two main Kurdish parties have not yet agreed on a common candidate. Fawad Hossein, Nazmard of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Nizar Mohammad Saeed have been introduced as candidates of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
