According to Kurdpress, Kalın said that the MIT has played an influential role since the beginning of the Syrian conflict and has not allowed a "new threat" to Turkey's borders after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
On the peace process, Kalın said practical steps have been taken to disarm the PKK in the first quarter of this year. He called this process a historic achievement for regional stability.
The MIT chief believes that the success of the peace process is not only a security victory, but also a new stage for Turkey to determine its own destiny and end its internal problems.
