Talabani and the tom barak emphasized on speeding up the formation of the government and the unity of the Kurds

Service of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region - The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the special representative of the United States of America for Iraqi affairs, in a political meeting, discussed the process of forming the new government of Iraq, the cabinet of the Kurdistan Region and the need for a united position of the Kurds in the current situation.

According to Kurdpress, Bafel Talabani, the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, met with Tom Barak, the special representative of the United States of America for Iraqi affairs, and exchanged views on the recent political developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

In this meeting, the issue of the formation of the new Iraqi government was specially discussed, and both sides emphasized the need to speed up the process of forming the cabinet and remove the political obstacles ahead. It was also insisted that Iraq should remain as a sovereign, independent and developing country.

Talabani and the American representative also emphasized the need to complete the legal processes for the formation of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government and noted that the current situation makes the convergence, coordination and unity of the position of the Kurds necessary both in the Kurdistan Region and at the level of Iraq.

In the same framework, the two sides stated that the political unity of the Kurds will play a decisive role in passing the current critical stage and establishing political stability in Iraq.

It should be mentioned that before this meeting, Tom Barak had also met Masoud Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Najirvan Barzani, the head of the Kurdistan Region.
