The Democratic Party changes its name and dissolves its subsidiary organizations

Türkiye Service - Simultaneously with the rapid progress of the peace process in Türkiye, the Democratic Party enters the stage of legal and political reconstruction after the final report of the relevant commission is approved; A change that will be accompanied by a change in the name of the party and a change in its internal structure.

According to Kurdpress, the process of solving the Kurdish issue in Turkey is advancing rapidly and after the approval of the final report of the relevant commission, this process will enter the stage of legal and political adjustments. In this framework, the People's Equality and Democracy Party (Demparty) is on the verge of radical changes in its structure, policies and even its name.

Based on these decisions, the name of the party will be changed to "Republic of Democracy" and a significant number of its members will also undergo changes. However, party co-chairman Tunjar Bakr Khan will remain in his position.

While efforts to advance the peace process continue, the Dem Party seeks to redefine its position within the framework of the Republic of Türkiye. This party has announced that democracy should replace weapons and its goal is to "open the locks" in the political arena; An approach that wants to reflect it in its new identity and discourse.

According to Khabartrak, in the new phase of Democratic Party politics, all political activities will be organized under a single umbrella. In this regard, some organizations and parties aligned and forming the tail of the party, such as the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) will also be dissolved.

Within the party, there is also a plan for extensive modernization. Although Tunjar Bakr Khan will remain as co-chairman, there will be significant changes among other members. The party congress is supposed to be held in the summer months, but its exact time will be determined based on the progress of the so-called "Türkiye without terrorism" process.

It is expected that these decisions will affect the election process. Based on this, the left-wing currents will gather under a single party and will do political activities only within its framework. Also, the representatives who entered the parliament from the Democratic Party lists will not be able to transfer to another party.
