Iraq and Kurdistan region service – The military forces spokesman announced the holding of an urgent meeting of the National Security Council, chaired by Mohammad Shia-Sudani, and announced that in this meeting the Iraqi government will exercise its right to respond and defend itself against attacks on official Security bases, including the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

According to Kurdpress, the Iraqi National Security Council, chaired by Minister and commander- in-Chief of the country's armed forces, Mohammad Shia-Sudani, held an urgent meeting to review recent developments in the region and violations of Iraqi sovereignty.

Sobhan Noman, spokesman for the commander- in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed forces, announced in a statement that the meeting emphasized adherence to the principle of the monopoly of decision-making in matters of war and peace by the government and within the framework of the constitution. He warned that any group or individual who acts outside the framework of the law be delat with legally.

The Iraqi government, while strongly condemning the attacks on official security basses and the violation of its sovereignty, took the following decisions:

1.The right to respond and counterattack

2. Diplomatic and legal action

3. Dealing with the prepetrators of attacks

The statement also emphasized the legal statues of the Popular Mobilization Forces as one of the pillars of the Iraqi national security and called on all parties to support the members of this organization and prevent any extralegal action against them.
