Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament: The majority of the parties agreed to elect the president and prime minister of Iraqi simultaneously

Iraq and Kurdistan Region service – Shakhawan Abdullah announced that most of Iraqi's political movements have reached an agreement to hold simultaneous presidential and prime ministerial election.

According to Kurdpress, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party faction in the Iraqi parliament announced that most political currents have reached the conclusion that the election of the president and prime minister should be held simultaneously.

Shakhawan Abdullah said: there are requests to hold a parliamentary session to elect the president, but this issue is not limited to the presidency, but this issue of electing the prime minister is equally important.

He emphasized that if the goal is to form a government with legitimacy and board powers, a prime minister must be elected; therefore, most political forces agree that the election of the president and prime minister should be held simultaneously and within the framework of a political agreement.

In another part of his speech, Shakhawan Abdullah referred to drone attacks on the Kurdistan Region and said that the Iraqi government Knows very well who is firing these drones at the Kurdistan Region.
