The election of the president of Iraq is an internal matter

Service of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region - The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan strongly criticized the positions of ENKS (Patriotic Council of Syrian Kurds) regarding the presidency of Iraq, emphasizing that this issue is an internal issue and should not be interfered with.

According to Kurdpress, the official media of the Patriotic Union published a statement about the position of the Patriotic Council of Syrian Kurds regarding the position of the president of Iraq and announced that this council had described the election of the president as "illegal."

In this regard, the Patriotic Union announced: ENKS group, in a situation where the situation has changed and is no longer able to create division among the people of Kurdistan, is now openly and relying on others attacking the symbols of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the presidency of federal Iraq, and is seeking to create sedition and discord between the parts of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

This party emphasizes: the issue of electing the president of Iraq is an internal issue of this country and has nothing to do with this group. Also, according to the international laws related to refugees, they are not allowed to disrespect the presidency - which is the symbol of Iraq and a source of pride.

At the end of this statement, it is stated in a warning tone: In which country in the world are refugees allowed to have an armed force, receive salaries, and then attack the symbols of that country and question the legitimacy of the presidency? If this trend continues, they may lose the points they have earned.

The Patriotic Union has emphasized that it has been silent so far to preserve unity, but it is forced to respond to crossing red lines.
