In the Kurdistan region, politics has become more than ever a field of competition of numbers and balance of forces. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan sent a clear message through its spokesperson and announced: "From now on, we will act based on the number of seats and political weight." This position shows that the Patriotic Union no longer wants to stand next to the Democratic Party as a party with 23 seats, but seeks to appear in the form of a "common front" with other forces in order to have the upper hand and more weight in the equations of power distribution.

On the other hand, the Kurdistan Democratic Party is trying to disrupt this game. Meanwhile, the Change Movement has become a key player with only one seat remaining; the seat that the Patriotic Union is trying to attract will increase the number of its allies to 39 seats—the same as the number of seats of the Democratic Party—to convey the message of "equal political weight." However, the change movement has so far remained silent and has not announced its final decision; A silence that is more interpreted as waiting for the right moment.

On the other hand, the "new generation" has also cautiously entered this equation. While the Patriotic Union spoke about the progress of the agreements, the spokesperson of Nesl Nu stressed that no official agreement has been signed yet. This position was considered as a way to cool down the optimistic atmosphere of the union. Analysts see this behavior not as a distancing from power, but as a result of "fear of the ballot box"; the worry of repeating the elections and losing the current 15 seats is a factor that has made the new generation cautious.

In the meantime, the Democratic Party, which is in first place with 39 seats, has announced in a warning tone that if these coalitions proceed, it will put the option of re-election on the table. This message makes it clear that either the current election results must be used as a basis for action, or the whole process will start over.

All in all, the Kurdistan region is on the threshold of a complex stage; somewhere between the formation of a new political block or the collapse of balances. If the new generation withdraws from this coalition, the union will face the Democratic Party with the same 23 seats, and the balance of power plan will practically fail. But if this position is only tactical, the climate may witness the birth of a new political arrangement that is considered the biggest challenge for the Democratic Party in the years after the recent political developments.
