According to Mesopotamia, according to the autopsy report of the Van forensic medicine, the bodies of the two people were hit by multiple bullets and the cause of their death was declared to be bullets fired from a long distance. After this incident, the Işbilier family filed a complaint against those responsible with the Yuksekova Public Prosecutor's Office; but 13 years later, the perpetrators of the shooting have still not been identified.

The body of the family's daughter is still missing

Evin İşbilir, Visel's sister, joined the PKK in 2012 under the organization name "Ilul Deniz Zagros" and lost her life in an airstrike in the Gara region on February 1, 2025. Evin's family says they have not yet been able to access her body. Accordingly, Güzel İşbilir is simultaneously trying to clarify the circumstances of her son's killing and find her daughter's body, and considers her main demand to be "justice."

İşbilir: They deceived my son

Güzel İşbilir said, stating that her son and brother-in-law were killed as a result of a pre-planned plan: "They told my son that the cemeteries were destroyed. Visel and Reşit also went there and were killed after reaching the cemetery. My son and brother-in-law were targeted by snipers in two separate places." He added: "Later, they were introduced as terrorists in the media."We also asked, "If they were terrorists, could their children own the shop?"

Destruction of graves in 2016

Güzel İşbilir also said that the graves of her son and brother-in-law were destroyed several times in 2016. She continued: “My son had three children and my brother-in-law had four children. Their funerals were held with a large crowd. They don’t even respect our dead. We took the issue of the destruction of the graves to the judicial system and won the compensation case; but they claimed that they could not identify the perpetrators of my son’s death. I have been pursuing a legal battle for years to reveal the identities of the perpetrators.”

Since I have not seen her body, I cannot believe her death

The mother said about her daughter that Evin was studying, politically active and very attached to her family; but she did not accept injustice and joined the ranks of the PKK in 2012.According to Güzel İşbilir, her daughter called her after joining the PKK and said, "Always be happy, don't be sad, and be proud of us; don't worry about me." She added, "We learned through the media that Evin lost his life on February 1, 2025 in the Gara region; but since I haven't seen his body, I can't believe his death."
