KDP Peshmerga denies accusations over helping ISIS in Makhmour

The forces of the Peshmerga 80 brigade affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) have denied allegations by a "volunteer anti-ISIS commander from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in the Makhmur area" that the KDP forces had assisted the ISIS and preventing him from participating in the fight against ISIS in the area.

According to Nas News, Kurdish media reported that the volunteer force, named Ghazi Faisal, who is a PUK member, accused in a video clip that the 80 brigade of the Peshmerga forces under the command of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) have prevented the fight against ISIS in the Makhmour region.

In response to Faisal's allegations, the Peshmerga brigade affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) issued a statement, saying the claim was unreal.

The brigade also stressed that such fabricated and baseless literature would in no way match with the Kurdish spirit of brotherhood, struggle and effort.

According to the statement, the Peshmerga forces have announced their readiness to provide assistance to the person to participate in the fight against the terrorist organization of the ISIS.

The remarks come after a number of Peshmerga forces and civilians were killed and wounded in recent days following some ISIS attacks in the area.
