Deputy speaker says Iraq is not a threat to neighbors

A delegation headed by the first Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Hakim al-Zamili, visited Erbil on Tuesday, March 15, two days after a missile attack from Iran struck the city, state media reported.

Zamili arrived in the Kurdistan Region’s capital with a parliamentary delegation, according to Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"Neighboring countries must understand that Iraq does not threaten them but is open to them for investment and work,” Zamili stated.
The deputy speaker said there were committees set up between the parliaments of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, INA reported.
He declared parliament rejected any targeting of Iraqi territory and that its position on the issue was clear.
