Mahmoud Marzi told al-Malomeh news agency that there are more than 5000 U.S. forces in the base, adding that all of the forces are fighters not military advisors and are equipped with the most modern arms, including tanks and armored vehicles.

He further stressed that a number of the U.S. forces who have pulled out of Syria have entered Iraq and have been settled in Anbar province.
