US official, Nechirvan Barzani discuss Erbil-Baghdad relations

<p style="text-align:left">US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq and Iran, Andrew Beck, visited Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Necirvan Barzani on Sunday in the capital Erbil where the pair shed light on Washington's assistance for the stabilization of Iraq and Kurdistan Region and prevention of terrorism resurgence in the area, as well as Erbil and Baghdad ties, Barzani's office said in a statement.

The US official praised the role of Barzani in progressing the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.
During the meeting, where US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman was also present, the officials exchanged views on the process of formation of the next Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the recent meetings among the political parties on the issue, the statement added.
Barzani and the US diplomats additionally had talks on the relations between Erbil and Washington, where the Kurdish premier stressed on the importance of further improvement of the ties between the sides.
