The meeting took place on Sunday, February 25, and is the second meeting between the two heads of state, following a visit by Salih to Riyadh in November.
According to Asharq al-Awsat, Salih and King Salman discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
In contrast to his predecessor, Salih has maintained an active schedule of meetings with foreign officials and has already traveled to most of the other countries in the region.
Saudi Arabia is seeking closer economic and political ties with Iraq, both as a way to tap an neglected market and to counter the influence of its Iranian rival.
