<p style="text-align: left;">The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) have reached an agreement to form the new of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), a source said on Wednesday, April 3.

A source from the PUK Politburo told NRT Digital Media that the KDP-PUK agreement would be formally announced shortly.

The agreement came after PUK spokesman Latif Sheikh Omer said that the members of the PUK Politburo would meet on Wednesday to discuss the party&rsquo;s participation in the new cabinet.

At the Erbil International Book Fair, KDP Leader Masoud Barzani said that party would not wait any longer for the other parties and would proceed to form a new government.

News about the KDP-PUK agreement came just before lawmakers were set to convene for the second reading of a bill amending the Region&rsquo;s presidency law that was jointly submitted by the KDP and the Change Movement (Gorran).
