Salih Muslim blames Russia for Syrian Kurds’ failure

<p style="text-align: left;">The former leader of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim, blamed Russia for the failure of the Kurds in Syria as Moscow did not pressure Damascus to accept a political solution for the crisis in the country.

Muslim, the current head of the PYD foreign relation, told The Stars and Stripes that Moscow is the one that has to be blamed for the failure of the Syrian Kurds, accusing Russia of consolidating with Turkey and not backing the Kurds in talks with Damascus.

The Kurdish leader added that they expected Russia to pressure Damascus for a political solution in the country when Russia entered the crisis in the war-torn Syria.

The U.S. forces will remain for at least one or two years and the presence of U.S. and international forces in Syria means the security will be preserved and they will prevent Turkey ground and aerial attack against the Kurds.
