Current First Deputy Secretary-General Kosrat Rasul will serve as the head of the High Political Council, which will also include eight former politburo members.
Barham Salih, Rewaz Fayaq, and Qubad Talabani were elected to the PUK’s General Leadership Council, which is one of the most powerful bodies within the party. All three hold senior government positions in Baghdad or Erbil, specifically President of Iraq, Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament, and Kurdistan Regional Government Deputy Prime Minister.
The party also elected a committee to manage and supervise the congress’ activities, which is composed of Qadir Hama Jan, Arsalan Baez, Dler Said Majid, and Yaseen Mahmud, who will serve as spokesperson.
