The latest security developments in Iraq, the efforts of the security institutions to maintain peace and security in the cities, the recent demonstrations in a number of Iraqi governorates, the danger of terror resurgence, the ongoing efforts to implement the agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Iraq’s Federal Government on the status of Shingal district and other issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting between the two sides.
According to the presidency's statement the two sides also stressed that the Shingal agreement must be implemented with the support from the KRG and the Federal Government’s relevant institutions.
The cooperation and coordination between the Peshmerga and Iraq’s army to confront the threats posed by ISIS were also underlined, the statement said.
