During an interview with Kurdistan 24 TV channel, Col. Myles Caggins said the International Coalition support for the Peshmerga Ministry and the war against the remnants of IS is continuing.
IS is still a threat to the Iraqi regions, including Mukhmor and Diyala, and military training to the Peshmerga forces to combat against the IS will continue, the spokesman added.
He further said that the international coalition also includes many countries, including Italy, Germany, Hungary, England and Finland, and their activities are in the Kurdish region.
Col. Caggins announced that the US has supported the Peshmerga forces and that reforms in the Peshmerga Department were a good opportunity to further cooperate with them and turn them into one of the most powerful and different from the past.
He said the international coalition aims to boost co-operation with the Ministry of Peshmerga and the Security Forces of Asayesh as well as all of the intelligence forces in the region.
Earlier, Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, the deputy head of the Kurdish region, announced that military training for all forces of the region has been halted in all areas to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
