The gendarmerie corporal and three local security personnel died after members of the Syrian Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) detonated the car bomb at a checkpoint on a road in the town at midday, the governorate’s statement said.
Ten people wounded in the explosion, including seven civilians, have been moved to the state hospital in Ceylanpınar, Turkey, it said.
Turkey launched Operation Peace Spring in October to drive members of the YPG away from its Kurdish border.
