Iraq extends coronavirus curfew until Ramadan

<p style="text-align:left">Iraq&amp;rsquo;s Supreme Committee for National Health said on Wednesday, April 15, that the federal Council of Ministers has extended the curfew designed to prevent the spread of coronavirus until the beginning of Ramadan on April 24.

The decision was made during a video conference chaired by caretaker Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, NRT reported.

&ldquo;Another meeting will be held before Ramadan to discuss the situation and to issue necessary measures about how to fight coronavirus during Ramadan,&rdquo; the committee said in a statement.

So far federal authorities have reported 1,418 official cases of coronavirus in Iraq. Eight hundred and twenty-three patients have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus infection and 79 patients have died from it.
